The Cobbler in the Arrochar Alps is also Known as Ben Arthur

You start at the pay and display car park at Succoth On the A83 just west of the Village of Arrochar and it begins on the opposite side of the road. It winds its way up through the trees. As you get higher the views of Loch long gets only better and to the south east the summit of Ben Lomond can be seen. As you still climb you leave the forest but the track is still wide and easy to follow. You will now see the three peaks of the cobbler ahead but slightly left. These peaks have been the walkers and climbers playground of the workers from Glasgow since the 1890s.
The path continues to climb crossing streams before you reach the Narnain boulders. the well made path continues to climb steadily keep to the right at the fork as the left path leads to Ben Ime and could be used as your return route. The route up the cobbler ascend the stone steps it is less well made but easy to follow to reach the ridge between the north and central peaks. you turn right to reach the cobbler at 884m making it a corbett. The actual summit involves threading the needle. a gap in the rock and a nerve jangling scramble up to the top before you come back the same way.
To make the day longer and more epic you do have the option to bag two munros by leaving down the north face and going up Ben Ime and retracing down the descent and going over Ben Narnain. the path down from Ben narnain is steep and can be rocky but you feel as if the end will never come.
The easy path is to retrace your steps back to the ridge and to descend the path back to the village.
